The “Win a $1,000 Shopping Spree!” contest.

Rules & Regulations ("Rules")

1. No purchase is necessary to enter this contest (the “Contest”).

2. All monetary amounts herein are calculated in Canadian dollars.

3. The Contest is open to all residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority, except employees of Reitmans (Canada) Limited (owner of the “Addition Elle”, “Penningtons” and “MXM” divisions), its directors and officers and those of its affiliated and associated companies, agents, advertising and promotional agencies and members of their respective immediate families living in the same household.

4. By entering this Contest, each entrant accepts the terms and conditions of these Rules and agrees to be bound by them. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws and regulations. This Contest is void where prohibited by law.

5. To enter for a chance to win the Grand Prize (described below), simply go online at www.additionelle.com, www.penningtons.com or www.mxm.ca (each site, a “Website”) and follow the instructions to file an on-line ballot. All entries become the property of Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM.

6. Three (3) Grand Prizes will be awarded in total each consisting of a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) wardrobe at any participating Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM store (the choice of which store to be made by the winner) and a free wardrobe consultation to be provided by such division's trained sales advisors. The wardrobe consultation consists of expert tips given by our trained sales advisors on how to build a versatile, timeless wardrobe. The total retail value of all of the Grand Prizes is three thousand  dollars ($3,000.00).

7. Each Grand Prize must be claimed within one (1) month of the award of the Grand Prize towards the actual inventory of any participating Addition Elle stores. No product substitution or prize equivalent shall be permitted. A Grand Prize cannot be combined or used in conjunction with any other competition or offer. Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM club membership discounts and point accumulation cannot be applied towards the redemption of the Grand Prize. Each Grand Prize must be accepted as is, and cannot be redeemed for cash or gift certificates. Any products purchased using a Grand Prize cannot be returned after pick-up.  Choices of colours and sizes are subject to availability in that specific Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM store. No rain checks shall be provided.

8. This Contest offer shall be valid between June 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time and September 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time (the “Entry Deadline”). All entries must be received by Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM prior to the Entry Deadline. Limit of one Grand Prize entry per person (i.e. per name of entrant). Odds of winning a Grand Prize will vary depending on the number of eligible Contest entries received.

9. For purposes of the Grand Prize, a random draw will be held at the head offices of Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM in Montreal, Quebec on each of July 16, 2008, August 18, 2008 and September 22, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time (each a “Draw Date”), in order to select the Grand Prize winner among all of the eligible entries received: (a) for the first and second Draw Dates, by the day prior to the applicable Draw Date; and (b) for the final Draw Date, by the Entry Deadline. For greater certainty, any non-winning entry included in the first random draw and/or the second random draw will be included in all subsequent random draws for this Contest.

10. Only the selected winner will be contacted by email, mail or telephone within ten (10) business days of the applicable Draw Date. If the selected winner cannot be reached within ten (10) business days of the applicable Draw Date, the selected winner will be disqualified and another winner will be selected by a random drawing conducted by Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM. Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected winner. If a Grand Prize cannot be awarded due to actions or circumstances beyond the control of Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value may be awarded. The name of each Grand Prize winner shall appear on a Website for no less than thirty (30) days following selection and confirmation of said winner.

11. Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM reserve the right to verify eligibility qualifications of any Grand Prize winner. Each Grand Prize winner must comply with these Rules and correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by a representative of Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM during a pre-arranged, mutually convenient telephone call.  In addition to the foregoing and in order to be eligible to receive a Grand Prize awarded hereunder, each Grand Prize winner must execute a full release and affidavit of eligibility in a form to be provided by Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM which relieves Reitmans (defined below) from any and all liability for injury associated with any prize awarded to him/her, as well as satisfy any and all laws and regulations and other criteria required by such Grand Prize winner’s province of residence. Once a Grand Prize winner has satisfied these requirements, he/she will be entitled to claim the Grand Prize. Should a Grand Prize winner not claim his or her Grand Prize within the specified time, not comply with the rules or incorrectly answer the time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, an alternate Grand Prize winner (or winners) will be selected, by random drawing, conducted by Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM.

12. By entering this Contest, all entrants irrevocably grant to Reitmans (Canada) Limited (and all its affiliated and associated entities, including Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM) (collectively “Reitmans”) the right to include their name and information on any of Reitmans’ mailing lists for promotional purposes relating to Reitmans, and to use their name in any publicity carried out by Reitmans, and agree to grant to Reitmans a non-exclusive irrevocable license and right to incorporate, use and reproduce their photograph, voice, name, likeness and city and province of residence in whole or in part in and in connection with the advertising, exhibiting, marketing, promotion and exploitation of its business in any manner, in all media throughout the world. Those individuals who do not wish that their personal information be used for such purposes are required to so indicate in writing to Reitmans at the following address: 250 Sauvé Street West, Montreal, Quebec H3L 1Z2; ATTENTION: 1 Plus Customer Service.

13. All expenses related or incidental to the receipt and use of a Grand Prize, including all surcharges, taxes (federal, provincial and local), and travel costs between a Grand Prize winner’s residence and participating Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM stores, shall be the sole responsibility of such Grand Prize winner. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, all expenses not specifically stated herein to be the responsibility of Addition Elle, Penningtons and MXM, shall be the sole responsibility of such Grand Prize winner. No refund or compensation of any costs or expenses incurred by a Grand Prize winner shall be made. Each Grand Prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be reissued or revalidated.

14. Reitmans shall not be responsible for lost, stolen, mutilated, late, misdirected or ineligible entry forms that may occur in the administration of the Contest. Reitmans shall not be responsible under any conditions whatsoever for any technical problems or technical malfunctions relating to the Contest or for any printing or typographical errors or problems in connection with any Contest-related materials, including any computer, online, human or technical malfunctions that may occur in the administration of the Contest. If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tempering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or otherwise, or for any cause beyond the control of Reitmans or any act corrupting or affecting the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Reitmans reserves the right, in its absolute and sole discretion, to disqualify an individual and/or cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.  Any attempt by anyone to damage or disrupt the Contest shall be considered a violation under criminal and civil law. Reitmans reserves the right to seek damages or other remedies against such person.

15. Contest entrants assume all liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Contest, or the use or misuse of any prizes granted herein, including any and all losses, damages, claims, actions and causes of action with respect to a Grand Prize (including without limitation, in connection with travel, if applicable). Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, by entering this Contest, entrants release and forever discharge Reitmans and its parent companies, subsidiaries, agents, and advisors and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders and representatives of Reitmans, from any and all damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind whatsoever arising in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use or misuse of any prize awarded in connection with the contest, including without limitation personal injury, death, and/or property damage as well as claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

16. In the event of any dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, entries will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted during entry. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Winning entries may be required to provide Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM with proof that the claimed winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry, or forfeit the Grand Prize.

17. It is the entrant’s sole responsibility to notify Addition Elle, Penningtons or MXM in writing at the address indicated above if he/she changes his/her address or other contact information. All address corrections must be received prior to the Entry Deadline.

18. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling.  Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
