The first Reitmans store opened in 1926, on St. Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Herman and Sarah Reitman and their children ran this landmark store, which was a traditional "general" store. It soon became clear, however, that it was the women's ready-to-wear line that was incredibly popular. The second location soon opened, selling only women's apparel, and the rest, as they say, is history. MXM is a clothing brand offering the latest fashions and trends in sizes 14+. The line was first launched in selected Penningtons stores in Fall of 2002. After a roaring success, the brand was introduced to selected Addition Elle stores in 2003. This new fashion sensation continues to increase in popularity and it is now available in all Penningtons stores across Canada and in an always rising number of selected Addition Elle locations from coast to coast. These national retailers are part of the Reitmans Canada family, first foundedin 1926 and known today as one of the most successful retailers in Canada.
